Mission and vision

Mission

The Canadian Institute for Research on Linguistic Minorities is a centre of excellence whose role is to lead, bring together and partner with research centres, researchers, community agencies and government bodies in order to promote a greater knowledge of the status of Canada's official language minorities and a better understanding of the priority issues that concern them.

To this end, it is committed to carrying out, in cooperation with its partners, relevant research work that can support the various stakeholders of official language minorities and the public policy makers in language matters.

Vision

Through its relevant research, its successful partnerships and the quality of its staff and associate members, the Canadian Institute for Research on Linguistic Minorities acts as a beacon that guides community agencies and government bodies in their actions, thereby contributing to the development of Canada's official language minorities.
